Stan Lee was born to Celia Lieber and Jack Lieber in New York City. Stan Lee was born as Stanley Martin Lieber. He was born on December 28, 1922. Stan Lee did something when he was sixteen that not all 16 year-olds do. He graduated from high school at age 16. Stan Lee has had several jobs in his life. One of then was that the was an office assistant at Timely Comics in 1939. Stan became the Editor of Timely Comics in the early 1940’s. In World War Two he served domestically in the Army as an illustrator and writer. He liked a girl named Joan Clayton. Joan Clayton Boocock got divorced from her first husband and married Lee. Joan was only married to her first husband for about a year. One of the noteworthy comic creations of Stan Lee is the Fantastic Four. Stan Lee and Jack Kirby created them in 1961. In 1962 Stanley Lieber created Spider-Man. He created the X-men in 1963. All three of those each got their own movies. In 1972 Stanley became the editorial director and publisher. In 1999 Stan formed Stan Lee Media. Stan Lee started POW! Entertainment in 2001 and then published his autobiography in 2002. Also in 2002, Lee filed a lawsuit against Marvel for not receiving any profits from the Spider-Man movie. He got a National Medal of Arts in 2008. In 2011 he got the Star on the Walk of Fame for Motion Picture award. Stan Lee has appeared in several of the Marvel movies.
