A description of Stan Lee
Stan Lee was born on December 28, 1922 in New York City. He was born to Celia Lieber and Jack Lieber. Stan Lee is actually Stanley Martin Lieber. He has had several jobs throughout the years he has been around. In 1939 he became an office assistant at Timely Comics in 1939. He became the editor of Timely Comics in the early 1940’s. Stan Lee was in the army in World War 2. He served domestically in the army as an illustrator and writer. Stanley Martin Lieber got married to his wife, Joan Lee, on December 5, 1947. One of the people that Stan Lee worked with was Jack Kirby. In 1961, Jack Kirby and Stan Lee created the Fantastic Four. The names of the Fantastic Four are: Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic), Ben Grimm (The Thing), Susan Storm (later Susan Richards and known as The Invisible Woman), and Johnny Storm (The Human Torch). Another character that is very well known, if not more, is Spider Man. Stan Lee created Spider Man in 1962. There have been several Spider Man movies. Stan Lee became editorial director and publisher in 1972. In 1999 Stan Lee formed Stan Lee Media. Stan Lee got the Lifetime Achievement Award for his excellence in the art of animation. Stan Lee started POW! Entertainment in 2001. Stanley Martin Lieber published his autobiography in 2002. Also in 2002, Stan filed a $10 million lawsuit against Marvel for not receiving any profits from the first Spider Man movie. In 2008 Lee got a National Medal of Arts. 2011 was when Stan Lee got the Star on the Walk of Fame for Motion Picture award. Stan Lee appears in many of the Marvel movies. For instance, Stan Lee tried to pull Thor’s hammer with his truck in the movie Thor.
